STUDENTS SPEAK UP FOR KIDS
Student-led advocacy teaches pure reciprocity in giving, builds upon unique talent and leadership skills, and ultimately FOSTERS A COHESIVE COMMUNITY OF INCLUSION and understanding among students in their schools and in their neighborhoods.

Birthday Cards for Foster Kids
Create a special birthday card for a foster child that includes a decorative cover and an encouraging, written message on the inside. There are 1,700 children and teens in care and each one has a birthday each year.

Content Writing
Write an article that might be shared on the Students Speak Up For Kids’ blog. Choose a topic that might motivate and encourage other students to give back to the community of children in dependent care. You may also persuade someone to get passionate about a change that is needed to better the foster care system.

Community Flyer Distribution
Spread awareness by distributing Speak Up for Kids or Guardian ad Litem flyers in the community. We’ll provide the flyers

Donation Drive
Plan, coordinate, and run a donation drive. Some ideas would be to collect gently used athletic shoes, school supplies, suitcases/bags, quilts, Holiday toys, or stocking items. The options are endless - feel free to come up with your own ideas.

Internships
There are opportunities to gain invaluable experience through victim advocacy, paralegal work, or victim compensation. Tell us your passion and where you hope to gain experience, and we’ll do our best to help find you a volunteer work opportunity in an area that enhances your gifts and talents.
