Hope, Healing, and Support: Calvary Lions Organize Suicide Prevention Workshop
Franco Ruocco and the Calvary Lions Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids took an important step in supporting teen mental health by organizing a teen mental health and suicide prevention workshop in collaboration with the Jason Foundation.
The event focused on raising awareness about mental health challenges faced by teens and provided valuable resources for suicide prevention. In addition to the educational workshop, the event also included a donation drive benefiting children and teens in foster care, resulting in an estimated $2,000 worth of essential items being donated to those in need.
Why This Matters
Mental health awareness and suicide prevention are critical topics, especially among teens. Many young people struggle in silence, and having access to information, support, and resources can be life-changing. By hosting this workshop, the Calvary Lions not only provided education and awareness but also took action to support vulnerable children through their donation drive.
