From Page to Play: Benjamin School Buccaneers Spark Creativity at Storybook Village

Lulu Swank, Gianna Demerski, and Ava Crawford, along with the Benjamin School Buccaneers Chapter of STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids, made a meaningful impact at Storybook Village through their Giving Tree and Rainbow Fish activity tables.

These hands-on activities, rooted in the messages of The Giving Tree and The Rainbow Fish, helped children explore the values of kindness, generosity, and self-expression. Thanks to eight student volunteers, the children who took part in these activities had a chance to learn, create, and explore.

Why This Matters

Books like The Giving Tree and The Rainbow Fish teach important life lessons about sharing, empathy, and self-worth. By bringing these stories to Storybook Village in a hands-on way, the Benjamin School Buccaneers helped children connect with these values in a creative and engaging environment. Whether through crafting, storytelling, or interactive discussions, each child walked away with a deeper understanding of kindness and generosity.

How You Can Help
